There once was a film from Mark Jones

That chilled you right down to your bones
The tale that he told
Of a leprechaun and his gold
Was met with both laughter and groans

You might not believe when I say this
But the film starred Warwick Davis
And a pretty young girl
Unknown in the world
It was Jen Aniston before she got famous

The plot way back then was unique
Twas a fairytale with a tiny tweak
The modern day plight
Of a murderous sprite
On a quest for the gold that he seeks

He encounters a teenager named Tory
Played by Aniston, the hero in this story
He gives her a fright
As they quarrel and fight
And that’s when things get quite gory

Now the popularity of the film can’t be denied
And I’m quite fond of all the laughs it supplied
The makeup was well done
And it was all in good fun
But if I had said it was good, I’d have lied

Warwick Davis showed that he could perform
But the writing was far below the norm
The lines all fell flat
They should’ve fixed that
And the rest of the cast was lukewarm

The movie was a delight for it’s time
My memories of it are simply sublime
It may not have aged well
But I say what the hell
To not see it, ‘least once, is a crime
